Clarity For LifeGive Yourself a Break From Your MindBy Nicola Walker Can you believe everything your mind tells you? My mind sometimes tells me that I don't have any time to relax but I know it isn't really true. When I recognize this controlling voice inside my head, I wonder how true this belief really is. I decide to experiment so I can find out what options I really have. Imagine if you let go of your points of view, judgements and beliefs. What would remain? By letting go of an opinion or belief, you create more space for your intrinsic wisdom and knowing to guide you. For example, how do you feel when you judge someone or a situation? When you judge, you put up a barrier across your heart. And your heart is the very source of wisdom that can help you best see another person or circumstance from a different and more enlightened perspective. When you are judging or thinking anything that makes your heart feel small and tight, try choosing to let go of the thought. You may find this difficult at first. When you are consumed by a thought or a belief, you are totally identified with it. So you automatically feel threatened. What would happen if you were to let go of the belief? Are you open to taking a test drive? Take a deep breath and let go of the thought. Notice what you experience once the thought has gone. You'll find that you are greater than the thought. After all you are still here, even though the thought has gone. By letting go, you create more space around your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. You'll find the thoughts may return, but you just let go of them again. What is most important is how you feel when you have just let go of a thought. Can you feel a sense of tangible relief in your body when you let go of thoughts? Letting go of thoughts and opinions brings you closer to your essence. When you become closer to your essence, you make room for both inner peace and success to flow through you. Copyright 2002, 2004 Clarity For Life. All Rights Reserved. Last Updated 10/21/2004 |
