Clarity For LifeMoving Beyond Feeling StuckBy Nicola Walker Whenever I am feeling stuck, I am also aware that there is no such thing as feeling stuck because life is constant change. It’s easy to put the blame on life, God, the other person or your favorite scapegoat. However, if you want to find the cause of feeling stuck, the best place to look is your own mind. Where do you feel stuck in your life? What doesn’t flow as well as you would like? When you feel like something isn’t flowing in your outer life, it’s hard to feel your own flow. Instead, you feel tense and tight. Whether flow gets constricted in your relationships or your work, there are many ways to release these blocks to greater ease and fulfillment. The next time you feel stuck, write down all your thoughts and beliefs about your situation. Then go and do something that you enjoy – something that takes your mind off your problems so you feel full and joyous. One of the things I love to do is to go for a walk or a hike out in nature. When you return, read what you wrote about feeling stuck. Take each belief and ask, “Is this really true?” How do you feel when you read your thoughts? I often feel disconnected from my words, as if another person was writing in my journal! There is only one truth. And that is the truth that makes you feel deeply expansive and inspired. Yet, it takes courage and discipline to follow this one truth and not get tempted by the desire to get side-tracked by fears and limiting beliefs. When you still the mind and get really quiet, you can feel the one truth. See how close you can stay to being present with the one truth throughout your day.
